ILFS Engineering rises 8% on EPC order of Rs 1,436 cr

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company shot up nearly 8 percent intraday on Tuesday after the company received EPC contract worth Rs 1,436 crore.

The company received a letter of intent from Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway Limited, an SPV incorporated by ITNL (ILandFS Transportation Networks) for the project.

The project is an engineering, procurement and construction contract that involves four laning of Kiratpur Ner Chowk section of NH-21 in the state of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, the company said in a release sent to exchanges.

The scope of work includes 67.3 kms of road works, minor bridges, 18 numbers of major bridges and 5 numbers of main tunnels.
 
At 13:43 hours IST, shares rose 3.5 percent to Rs 56.10 amid hefty volumes on Bombay Stock Exchange.
 
Trading volumes increased 7 times to 21,049 equity shares as against five-day average of 2,953 shares.
