TVS Motor 's total sales in November declined 2 percent from a year ago to 1.72 lakh units, as decline in scooter sales and exports offset a rise in motorcycle sales.
Its total two-wheeler sales slipped 3.5 percent to 1.67 lakh units, while three-wheeler commercial vehicle sales jumped 87 percent 5,054 units.
TVS sold 65,494 motorcycles last month, up 5 percent year-on-year. But scooter sales declined 15 percent to 37,470 units.TVS has for long been the second largest scooter maker in India, behind Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. However, the maker of Scooty and Wego been facing stiff competition from Hero MotoCorp, which recently started selling the Maestro scooter, apart from its existing Pleasure.
It exported 20,080 units in November, down 17 percent.
TVS Motor shares closed at Rs 39, up 1.3 percent on NSE on Friday.
