ACC under pressure on 1% royalty to Holcim

Cement producer ACC fell more than 1 percent on Thursday as the company is going to pay 1 percent royalty to Holcim on net sales from January 1.

The company will seek shareholders' approval for royalty payment for technology transfer. Swiss cement major Holcim holds 50.01 percent stake in ACC.

"The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on December 13, 2012, approved the payment of technology and knowhow fees to Holcim, Switzerland at the rate of one percent of the net annual sales of the company with effect from January 01, 2013. The proposal will be presented to the members of the company for their consideration at the next Annual General Meeting of the company," the company said in its release.
 
At 13:56 hours IST, the stock went down 1.36 percent to Rs 1,401.65 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
